We established the Electronic Data Processing Section in 1973, for various reasons, one was due to our society’s developing trend. The Section was renamed to Information Management Division and our school was reformed into a technical institute later on in 1989. A year later, four-year day-time classes were set up in Hsinchu. The Information Management Division was also reorganized to ultimately become today’s Department of Information Management. The department continues to progress in various aspects, growing stronger and stronger in multiple facets over time.
The Department expects to equip its graduated students with professional skills, positive attitudes and sharp interpersonal skills. With training in modern IM technologies, those who are self-motivated and willing to help others in solving business-related technique and non-technique problems are expected to excel. Under these expectations, we designed the following as our educational goals :
i. Emphasis on teamwork with a focus on professional ethics and promotion of humanistic spirits.
ii. Fostering knowledgeable and skillful IM professionals.
iii. training students with problem-solving and self-learning abilities.
iv. cultivating students’ discipline and enabling them to integrate applications of different fields.
