The Department is awarded as one of the three featured universities elected in the 2017 Information Month Exhibitions. We showcased the "Smart Laser Detection and Protection Systems" developed by the Departmental representative team. This application is the best of its kind in country, applying laser technologies in the secured detection arena. Through the exchange of technology, experiences and talent sharing, we constantly encourage a multi-aspect learning environment where we encourage creativity and new vision. This dynamic environment allows for joint ventures and opportunities, ensuring our graduates match the constantly evolving job market demand. We are proud to have focus on ultimately allowing our students/graduates apply their knowledge and skill sets practically in the professional and real world. The university actively encourages/pursue the cooperation between industries and the school.

Approximately 70% of senior students participate in internship programs co-operated by the IM Department and well-known enterprises in the country. A high percentage of those interns are then asked by each respective employers to sign on as a full time employee due to excellent performance. The enterprises that offer internship opportunities include Institute for Information Industry ( III), hTC. Asus, Systex, National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, PChome, Gigabyte. HPi, eBizprise. Tatung System Technologies and many more.
In recent years, the teachers and students of the IM Department participated and won awards in different competitions. For instance, participated and won awards in the National Information Applications and Services Innovation Contest – the biggest IT (Information Technology) contest platform held annually in Taiwan. This competition attracts hundreds of institutes, had more than 800 representative teams and 5,000+ talents participating.
i. Placed 1st for Information Application Sector in the 22nd National Information Applications and Services Innovation Contest
ii. Placed 2nd for Industrial/Academic Cooperation Sector in the 21st National Information Applications and Services Innovation Contest
iii. Won the great work award (masterpiece ) of Mobileheroes Communications Contest – Mediatek IoT (Internet of Things) Development Contest, sponsored by the Industrial District of MoE (Ministry of Economics), and the Communications Industry Promotion and Development Office of MoE – known as “Communications Oscars” in Taiwan.
